Summer travel - at only one PCR testing distance

And is that so… Summer is gradually entering our daily lives, we feel the holiday mood, we dream of traveling again to our favorite vacation spots. And more often these days we ask ourselves the question: " Could we enjoy a relatively normal summer after thel ockdowns?"

Although global travel restrictions are beginning to be phased out or at least eased, unfortunately there is still much uncertainty about where we can travel after the COVID-19 pandemic, whether we need to take a PCR test, whether we should observe quarantine when we arrive there or when we return to Bulgaria.

In Europe as from July 1^st this year we will be able to travel freely thanks to the implementation of the digital immunization certificate. In addition to information on vaccines, it will also contain test data or evidence of COVID-19 disease, which also entitles us to travel around the Old Continent without any problems.

If we decide to rest or travel outside Bulgaria in Summer 2021, it is good to first get acquainted with the current requirements and restrictions for travel of Bulgarian citizens to certain countries.

• First of all, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) is an important channel of information for travelers, which we should check before going abroad. The platform gives us the specific information about COVID-19 for each country, as well as the most current restrictions and recommendations for Bulgarian citizens.
• The European Commission also tries to answer all questions in the easiest and most interactive way possible through its EU Re-Open platform. The platform provides real-time information for each country on border controls, available vehicles, practical information on travel restrictions, as well as information on the safety and health of travelers.
• For all the restrictions of the individual countries in the world, it is good to find out from the Travel Center section at IATA . This makes it much easier for travelers to plan a trip to countries outside Europe for which information is scarce.
• Last but not least, it is advisable to have a valid Travel Insurance, especially if you have organized your trip individually.
